Samantha Smith - Head of Marketing & Administration
Samantha began her career in financial services in 1991, joining Devon based Bryce Owen Davies as an administrator. Whilst at Bryce Owen Davies she became involved in the operation of NFIFA Portfolio, the commercial arm of the National Federation of Independent Financial Advisers (NFIFA), before being promoted to the role of Personal Assistant to the Managing Director (Mike Owen) in 1993. From this point, Samantha moved to London when NFIFA merged with BIIBA Financial Services to form the IFA Association and the companies relocated. She was promoted to Marketing Manager in 1995 and Head of Communications in 1997, both roles involving on-going liaison with product providers, overseeing all aspects of the IFA Magazine and other publications produced by the company and organising conferences and events. Following the amalgamation of the IFA Association with the Association of Independent Financial Advisers (AIFA) and the subsequent sale of IFA Portfolio to Bankhall Investment Associates, Samantha went on to work with Mike Owen and Garry Heath at The Impartial Group of Companies. Her role as Director of Operations included a wide variety of tasks including day-to-day administration, development and promotion of the group's role in the industry, marketing activities and event organisation projects that were placed with The Impartial Consultancy Limited. Samantha joined F&TRC in 2003 as Office Manager, a varied and challenging role which saw her responsible for activities to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the company as well as providing administration support to other members of the team. She now holds the position of Head of Marketing & Administration, looking after the company's sales and marketing activities.
