Established in 1995, the Financial Technology Research Centre (FTRC) is a specialist consultancy advising a wide range of financial e-commerce and software companies, trade bodies and financial institutions on the use of technology in the personal finance market.
|

|
FTRC produces e-Excellence Research and Ratings bringing clarity to the market by identifying those solutions that best meet adviser requirements. The Market Analysis and Proposition & Gap Research reports enable providers to understand what they need to deliver to meet those requirements by providing a complete picture of their own proposition and their standing in the market, helping them to understand where their focus for further enhancements, both now and in the future, should be. |
“The feedback we received from FTRC helped us re-evaluate our internal structure and where we stood in the marketplace. We found the findings invaluable and have since made changes to our business proposition on the back of what we were told. The benefits that these changes have brought to our business have allowed us to deliver a better service to our customers and stay ahead of our competitors”.
Clive Kornitzer, Chief Operating Officer, Abbey for Intermediaries

FTRC facilitates Adviser Forum – an environment where the major adviser, provider and technology companies meet to discuss key business issues and identify how to address them co-operatively by improvements to business processes, achieving cost savings and service enhancements. For the most part, these solutions will be found through the use of technology. |
"Adviser Forum has incalculable benefits for Adviser firms to get a complete picture on technology issues that are inhibiting us from delivering efficient, profitable business. It provides the opportunity to explor and share others' experience in addressing these issues and what impact various solutions can have. This networking framework with Distributors and the access to FTRC's market knowledge and their consideration of the issues confronting us makes it possible to confront the "Gordian knot" of complexity with a confidence that is beyond those organisations without their own significant expertise and reseach capability.
Software service providers and Product/Fund Managers would do well to embrace this access to an industry wide representation more fully than they do!"
Mike Achilles, Group Director of Technology, Bluefin

FTRC, via Adviser Forum, produces Automation Ratings, providing an objective measurement of a provider’s ability to supply e-new business services using straight through processing. Using adviser defined priorities for pre-population of electronic applications for protection, pension and investment bond products, ratings are produced identifying the extent client management systems, portals and providers re-use information. |

FTRC publish Market Evolution Report for Variable Annuities & Third Way Products
More information about this flagship research can be found in the Report Summary.
The document has already been very positively received by the advisers participating in the research, provoking such comments as:
"The feedback we get from advisers shows that they are crying out for help in understanding when alternative retirement products are suitable for their clients and where they fit into the advice process. The work that FTRC have done in this field is detailed and the process that they have constructed is very usable; having been garnered from qualitative research with some top IFA firms.
This is a giant step forward in the advice process for alternative retirement products." - Simon O'Connor, Head of Products & Marketing, Lincoln Financial Group
The Market Evolution Report is a "must buy" for any organisation with an existing Variable Annuity or Third Way Product, or those intending to launch a product in the near future.
